How Should I Plan My Project?

I am starting a cyber security project and do not know how to organise the work. While looking for ideas, I found online cyber security project help. I want to complete my own project but need suggestions for planning it. Should I choose one simple problem and research it step by step? Would a checklist help me track my progress? I would really like advice from students who have completed similar projects. What helped you stay organised from the first idea to the final submission?
